A PaletteArt™ Story at Copper Point Resort

When Lisa J. Levasseur saw the large, bare wall behind the reception desk at Copper Point Resort, she saw more than an empty space. She saw an opportunity to create something that would become part of the arrival experience, a work of art that would welcome guests and reflect the character of the resort.

Lisa began creating the installation directly at Copper Point, working on location over several long days and late nights. Piece by piece, she shaped and layered recycled acrylic paint across the wall-mounted canvases. Metallic tones of copper, bronze and charcoal move through the composition, while subtle blue-green details emerge as the light changes throughout the day.

The finished installation brings texture, movement and warmth to the reception area. Viewed from a distance, it creates a strong visual presence. Up close, its folds, edges and layered surfaces reveal the physical nature of PaletteArt™ and the process behind its creation.

But completing the installation did not mean the story of its materials was finished.

FROM THE INSTALLATION TO THE JEWELLERY

After the artwork was installed, Lisa was left with dried acrylic paint from the creative process. Rather than discard what remained, she began considering how it could take on another form.

Using dried paint remaining from the Copper Point installation, Lisa created a special collection of PaletteArt™ necklaces for the opening of Corner Stone Gifts & Coffee, home of 2G2B Healthy Express.

Each necklace carries colours, textures and fragments of the larger installation. Although transformed into something smaller and wearable, the jewellery remains materially connected to the artwork displayed behind the reception desk.

The result is more than a souvenir inspired by the installation. Each necklace is an original work of wearable art, and a continuation of the same creative story.

THE STORY CONTINUES

The Copper Point installation and its accompanying jewellery demonstrate how art can move beyond a single canvas or location. It can become part of an architectural space, a guest experience and something personal that can be worn and carried forward.

One artwork can become the beginning of another.

This transition from wall installation to jewellery reflects the idea at the heart of PaletteArt™: materials that appear finished, leftover or no longer useful may still hold creative possibilities.
